My sugar detox continues. The first three days and the reason why I’ve started detox could be found in my blog.
I am trying to improvise some recipes, based on the foods I can eat during sugar detox. Since I’ve added cheese, starting day 4, I came up with a nice idea of cheese balls. They are very easy and quick to make. After being rolled in cacao, they look super cute and tempting 🙂 Though, you can also roll them in unsweetened shredded coconut, sesame seeds or other foods you like that fit into sugar detox.

DIY protein bars are quite popular in my blog and I cannot get enough of them, to be honest. They are so versatile delicious, nutritious and convenient. About couple days ago I wanted to make a hummus. I’ve had all the ingredients, except tahini. Without thinking too long, I went to the local fresh market and bought the sesame seeds. Yes, I’ve decided to make my own tahini.
The tahini recipe is really simple and doesn’t take that much time. Besides homemade hummus, you can use tahini in baking the cookies, cooking the noodles, preparing the sauces for meat and vegetables.

You’ve, probably, heard about the cake called German Chocolate Cake? Maybe, that is one of your favorite desserts. Well, today, I offer you the recipe for the protein bars that taste close to the German chocolate cake. Not as sweet, of course: there is no sugar. All the sweetness comes from the dates and the whey protein*, depending on which one you are using.
*Please be aware that the sweeteners that sport nutrition companies use in their protein powders nowadays are not completely researched, and may have the health side affects, if not instantly, then in years to come.
